Permanent Numbers

Some groups may be recombined at some events, depending on entries.

Conflicts will be resolved, 1st by mutual agreement of both parties involved, and 2nd by the number of weekends entered in the SOWDIV in 2006. It will be up to the driver to show weekends entered if this becomes necessary.

Lastly, I will make a decision at my discretion.

To receive a number send $3 for each number with the following information:

• Name
• Member Number
• Mailing address
• Phone number
• E-mail address
• Car class
• Transponder Number for each car in a race group 
• Car number desired 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice (max two digits)
• Weekends entered in the previous two years in the SOWDIV per car
• Check payable to SCCA Southwest Division Inc. NO CASH PLEASE

Note: These numbers apply to SOWDIV club racing only. Solo/rally have their own program.

Numbers will be issued only upon receipt of the number fee and required information. Available numbers in the pool are assigned on a "first come" basis. The fee for each permanent number is $3 per calendar year one at a time.

There may be a grace period given for renewal of the previous years numbers, but not guaranteed. Once a number is lost, the driver must submit a request for a new number.

Numbers belong to the driver, not the car. If you retire, sell, etc a car, please notify the administrator in order that the permanent list is up to date.

A driver may hold only one number in any race group. A car owner who rents cars may request a permanent number for each car in their stable. The car owner must give a transponder number for each car in a race group.

Only one number per car will be assigned. Please note the entry requirements per car.

Any SCCA licensed club racing driver who has raced in a Southwest Division, SCCA (SOWDIV) event in the current or previous year may request a SOWDIV permanent number.

New drivers must have run before number assignment.

To renew a number, the holder must have used it on two (2) SOWDIV weekends during the current or previous year. A number not used on two (2) SOWDIV weekends during the previous year may be renewed once. The number will not be renewed a second time until the holder has participated in two SOWDIV club racing weekends. It is the driver’s responsibility to be able to show proof of entry (i.e. grid or results) in required events.

The Number Administrator will attempt to send number holders a renewal notice, but it is the responsibility of the driver to submit their renewal for the next year.

Thirty (30) days before each race the permanent number list is frozen and sent to the Registrar for that event. Permanent number assignments made after that time may or may not be honored for that event.
